I gots me a chocolate from a gentleman
Feb. 14th, 2010 10:35 amIt's a white Valentine right now and since it's my job to shovel snow from the pavement in front of our house and the path in the backyard and all, that's what I did after I had properly woken up (Teeeeaaaaa). I'll be going out again this afternoon to do it again because it keeps snowing.
So there I was, waging war 'pon the dreadfull snow, broom in one hand, snbow shovel in another when two houses over the dorr opened and an elderly gentleman came out with a broom and managed all of two swipes before he was out of breath. He has emphysema, so you can't really expect him to go out and shovel snow in the cold, can you?
That's how I ended up shoveling the snow in front of his house as well. When I was out he came out to give me a piece of chocolate, which was nomworthy. Not exactly a day spoiling myself but it makes me feel awesome all the same, not to mention that it helped the old man as well. Turns out today is his birthday and he's expecting twelve people that afternoon.
I'm sorry Angelikitten, I didn't stick with the pampering idea, but this counts as a good Valentinme's day too, doesn't it? ;)
